If it's an MP15 switcher, the railing has to be pressed in real hard. The stamped metal part has on a few stands a thicker part wich clamps into the metal frame.Bu I had to use a set of pliers to get it fastened correctly. (Use a piece of cardboard in the clamps of the plier to prevent anything damaging.) The oil is probably a rustprevention, mine also had a slight film on it.. It shouldn't be swimming in it though..

My wife bought me a K-line Diesel switcher w/ coal cars in Reading Colors for Christmas. I love it but I have some concerns. All of the railing is loose. The main handrails that run horizontally along the engine area slide out . looking like spears. What is the best way to hold these in place. Also there are two rails one across the front lower, and one across the back lower that seem to swing freely and are not quite attached. Have you noticed this on yours ? One last thing. This was new in an unopened package but when I took it out it was covered in a light oil. Seems like the smoke fluid all rain out. Thanks for any feedback. I'll try to post pics of the rails in question if you are not familiar with what I'm talking about

Thanks, Dave
