Okay this hasn't been done in a while and I wanted to show off my 812 gondola that came in looking real bad and what I did ( with some help ) to get it to this.
This is how I got it in with a 817 caboose
I sent it out to a friend and he sand blasted it and primed it for me. ( I forgot to get pictures of it at that point. While he was doing that I was working on the Lionel Lines brass plate, #812 brass plate, the journals, the brake stands, brake wheels and the stantions with never dull to get it the black paint on them off, and get there shine back.
I Painted the body a orange I had in a spray can. It comes out looking like red at first ( first 3 pictures ) then as it dries and cures it turns to a nice orange.
And then when it dried and cured it became this color. And you can see how the brass plates and journals came out. I didn't have brake stands, stanchions or wheels on at this point, although they are now.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Jeff Kane at the Train Tender Jeff@TTender.com has the hand rails for your 815 tank car. Prebent for $2 each plus the stanchions to hold them in place for $0.35 each. I'm goimg to do one myself. I did a caboose about 2 months ago in 2 tone green but not the green Lionel used.

I presently have about 7 items waiting to go to the friend that sand blastes them for me, Right now it to humid so probably won't be till the fall before I can get them done, But that just gives me more time to get more items that need to be done lol.
