I must have read the wrong thread. The one I looked at is currently at four pages. As far as working on a deal goes: working on a deal does not mean it will be completed. Maybe the  deal would not have been completed. Maybe the buyer would have only contracted to meet his on needs. We don't know.

What value is there in making fun of folks who were expressing their concern?

I wouldn't be affected by any outcome. I like stuff with electromechanical reversing units, whistle relays, and whistles with universal motors. Battery horns too, but I rarely bother to put a battery in a loco.

I have to wonder whether Lionel would have been willing to let someone else take over the business without that 11+ pages of customer feedback.

And I also wonder whether the folks purchasing the ERR business would be moving forward without the interest expressed in that thread.

Where did you find this information? On their website? Reason I ask is I don't see anything, and the last article listed about ERR was them explaining why it's being discontinued.
