This is one of our Great Christmas Gifts. It is an oil painting done on wood. It was done by my Brother-in-law’s cousin.



It now hangs in our train room.

Sorry, no pictures. I'm pretty inept with our digital camera - can't figure out how to load the film [;)]. My wife bought me the Hiawatha set of Hallmark Christmas ornaments - engine, tender and passenger car. She also found a couple of small marble sculptures' one of an Illinois Central steam engine and also an IC caboose. My daughter found an old Marx NYC tinplate caboose in an antique store for me. Also received a new Mr. Coffee machine - I wore out the old coffee maker. [:D]

Yes, it is "slick and shiney"!!!

It is a new Lionel Scale Pioneer Zephyr I got recently. I have the MTH Premier Zephyr and the Lionel now. The Lionel definitely does better in the "looks" departement. The MTH runs much better (comparing both in "Command" mode). Sound is about the same, with MTH getting the edge with 8 throttle notches as opposed to Lionel's 4. Neither company got the horn right. Best possible combination would be to upgrade the Lionel Zephyr to PS-2, but I doubt I will do so as it does run fine the way it is.

The photograph was taken at AGHRS. They have very long straight or almost straight tracks and very wide curves. I was able to run the "Silver Streak" really fast without any problems.

RAK, the project that Chris and I have going [the 3 Lionel UBoats being converted to DCS] is still going. A little slower than I first thought. Still think I will be glad that I went to PS2 on them instead of TMCC. Son had "gotten on me" for not doing it by myself. He knows I could probably do it. It was a new "ballgame" for me [with chassis with holes for big AC pullmor motors and etc]. Got a couple of Williams I might convert to TMCC due to ease and $$$$. I think converting can motors to TMCC will be easy. Thanks for all your great help and advice on the forum. Hope you have a great 2005.
