On engine video camera?

Anyone install one of those little video cameras in an engine to broadcast live action from the track?

Yes I have!

I put a X-10 camera in a dual motored Williams PH-40.

I basically kit bashed it by removing the plastic shells for the camera and transmitter.
The camera is then small enough to put in a cab window or the nose with out too much modification. The transmitter board and its antenna then sits between the motors and runs off of track power.
A receiver then connects to a TV.

I did this several years and have since lost the pics. I am now repainting the engine after which I'll reinstall the cam.

It is alot of fun to watch and run (w/TMCC) your trains on TV.

Roco and Fleischmann, european h0 manufacturers, have preinstalled black/white camera's in some dummy's to film your layout. They run on conventional dc and use a tmcc-like signal through the tracks to signal the images back..
But it's very expensive, and not in 0 gauge..
