Short in a fastrack switch
Posted by abbieleibowitz on Sunday, March 18, 2018 8:55 PM

I have a remote control Fastrack Lionel switch that shorts when thrown to the divergent route. The center rail of the switch and the fixed section of the inside rail on the switch are the problem. It has to be a problem in the switch. I took off the bottom plate, but dont see anything touching that shouldn’t be. Lots of wires In there! Any ideas?

The wiring of those switches seems diffacult to work with. If you can't find the short try contacting Lionel customer service. They are pretty good about service and may just give you an RA to return it to them for service.
