Mar or Marx? Mercury Train Engine

Mar or Marx? Mercury Train Engine

I have a Mercury Windup Train Engine. The trademark shows Mar with the X crosshairs stopping short of the middle where Mar is printed. In researching this engine online - it seems all Mercury engines are Marx. I would appreciate comments. Thank you.

That is the Marx trademark:

Marx logo on a lighted Watchman Tower from a train set.
