Interesting! I found someone’s half-begun O scale 2-rail passenger car project at a store I frequent, and ultimately was able to trade something for it (the person who runs the store is very friendly, and we get along great- he always gives me nice deals on stuff!!). The few assembled trucks/wheelsets are gauged for traditional “toy train” O gauge, but the cars are definitely set to become scale models. I’m hoping to get them built some day, but without any drawings of the prototype cars, there isn’t a whole lot I can do. There is nothing on the internet besides a drawing of a combine car, which resembles the style. They seem like they might be intended to be CN “Colony Cars”, but I can’t be sure.
Wish you luck with the 2-Rail plans!

"Unless bought from a known and trusted dealer who can vouch otherwise, assume every train for sale requires servicing before use"
Thanks for the encouragement everyone.
It is interesting reading your post. I can sense your enthusiasm in exploring a new scale. Been there many times myself. In many ways it is like starting all over again, and it can be very exciting. When the G bug bit, I was buying anything, and everything. Even things that didn't necessarily go together.
The same thing happened when I discovered postwar Lionel. Presto ! It's like a brand new hobby !
It's great to shake things up a bit.
Enjoy the journey !

You will find most on here are either 3 rail O or A.F. S gauge. But don't let that stop you. O 2 rail can be fun to. Being your coming from HO you know all the tricks for reverse loops and all with 2 rails (something us 3 railers do not need to know ) Bottom line as Becky said as long as your having fun, go for it.
Life's hard, even harder if your stupid John Wayne

Suggestion #1: Have fun!
Suggestion #2: Find ways to have more fun!
Doubling the size gives you 10 times as much latitude for creating detailed scenes.
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
I am new to this forum (been over in HO scale model railroading) and considering getting into O 2-rail. Got a grandson now and he'd love it when he visits. Saw some at our hobby shop today for the first time and love it. The shop gave me a copy of Atlas All-Scales Track & Accessory Catalog dated 2015, and loaned me a copy of MTH Electric Trains 2018 Volume One.
I may buy one of the complete Atlas track layouts to start with. Open to all kinds of advice.
