The gear is attached to a shaft that has a gear at both ends. There are 2 bushings that fit into a slot in the truck frame. The gear on the outside can loosen on the shaft. I've never had a gear pop out on me, though.
The shaft and gears is available from parts dealers and drops right into the truck.
I too have a similar problem. My Santa Fe 8352 worm gear and axle and drive gears all seem to be popping out!
Good luck with your fix. If find anything I will let you know. Otherwise I might have to purchase a new power truck.

I have an 8652 f3 engine, and the plastic drive gear (between the axles) pops out of the truck frame. I push it back in and the engine goes another few feet before it happens again! The motor/engine sits there and revs up going nowhere.
I looked up the motor truck in the "modern" parts and diagrams book I have and it calls for a "pivot bushing". Is this what keeps the gear in place or am I missing something else? How to Fix??
