A 4 x 8 layout is a great beginning. That was the size of my layout until this week and now it is 5 x 8. You can pack a lot of fun into a small space and it is something that you can finish. However we are never really finished there is always something you can modify or create.  Welcome to the site and enjoy!

Welcome aboard m'lad, we have a lot of fun here and really learn from each other!

So you're thirty years old?  That's great, I'm tired of being "The Kid" at 64!

Hello,

Hoping I am posting in the correct spot of the forum but just wanted to say hi since I just made an account. Hoping for some great advice and friendly conversation as I continue on my journey of collecting Lionel and MTH 0 gauge trains. I have quite a collection and it all started back when I was about 10 years old (now 30) and my Uncle gave me an 1862 Lionel General Set (which I still have to this day along with the LCCA 2004 halloween general set.)

I was out of the hobby for a number of years but have picked it back up with in the last year or so and am full force in it. I have a nice little 4X8 lay out going, with some switch tracks, some decorations, a bridge, etc.. a couple of steam locos and diesels with plenty of MTH and Lionel cars. I have slowly started to add more MTH trains to my collection as I an extremely impressed with their proto sound system and quality! I really like them!

Thanks for having me :)

Steve
