Good Evening,Spent most of the day in the train room today.  Repaired a couple of engines that sustaind damage in the fall, turned out good.  Then worked on updating some computer files with new data as a result of the rebuild.

Roy thanks for the heads up on the fire extinguishers, we have two of them.

RT, Those cars are fantastic, great find!

Kev, Cant believe all those birds! You have a sonic attraction device working?  Wow!

Rob, This would be the perfect weekend (esp Sunday) to offer to take your wife shopping or out for dinner.  (Consider all the points you would score).

Dennis, Can't get over the weather, this has got to be the warmest January on record.  Hope its not an indication for the summer.

Take Care All

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Dressed not warm enough for walk today.  Ugh.   Went out to eat for only time this week as they have a special on Monday.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening,

The neck feels quite better today. It is still a bit sore but much more tolerable and I had more movement. The workday was long but not exhausting. After work, I went to test drive a used Subaru. The car is in great shape, but the salesman was ill-prepared to answer my questions and stated the price was non-negotiable. I will look elsewhere.

At the least cell phones have been working properly.

Kev - I made my kids watch that movie a few months.  I remember seeing it as a kid and being terrified.  However, they thought it was boring and not scary at all.  Interesting how time has changed that perspective.

Good night,

Joe

Wifey back home safe and sound.  Too much drama back in Baltimore... Sheesh.

Buckeye - Nice pic of the boys on page 9. YesYes  I recently discovered that Yreka #19 had been bought at auction and transported to Ohio.  This is my favortie movie engine.

cnw1995 - Still pick up the Uke?  Check out Kazuki and Naoto.  Just fun to watch.

Morning all!

Bright, sunny, and will hit 60's today after a light freeze last night Thumbs Up

Moved/sorted tools yesterday and found/emptied/sorted 6 bankers/moving boxes of files/papers into 2 boxes of stuff to shred, 2 boxes of paper to recycle, amd 1 box of trash. Man has stuff piled up over the last 23 years in this house. 2 of the boxes were papers/files packed from the last house and 2 jobs ago! It's good to have time to get this stuff out of here!

More of the same today.

DJ - sometimes the site throws one into constant logins. As it is random I think it is associated with the NSA monitoring us...

Fife, Buckeye - page 9? Pic of the boys. What are you talking about????

Morning.  38 degrees.  Went to bed with it fair after two days of rain [over 2"].  Woke up to a dusting of white stuff. ????  Gone now.  Errands and then meeting about candidates for Town Manager.

Spent most of the day helping and instructing HVAC guy on replacing humidifier.  Guy had never done and company sent him to do.  Poor guy was out of his league.  I read the insturctions which he did not do.   They finally sent two guys to help.  I had eye Dr. apt. [all great with eyes].  Wifey said they left at 4:30.  Unbelievable.

Rob, good morning.  Vette, I have been wanting a 1953 model.  Wifey will not agree.

Roy, Medicare is better than VA.

Everyone, Buckeye has been retired but getting paid for working full job. Wink

Hello there,

been lazy last couple of days. Don't fell bad but not the best either.

It was near 50 here Sunday. High today was 22 at 7AM. Now about 13. Hard to get adjusted.

Took me over an hour yesterday to get my phone switched. The biggest hastle was getting Verizon to release my number from a business account. I'm now on a Straight Talk pay as you go plan. $30. a month. Unlimited data, text & talk. Using my old Galaxy S4 for now. Works good but I need a new battery as it don't last long.

Good luck to all those having colonoscopys. I've had several.  You will definitly have the runs on prep day,(the worst part) A piece of advice given to me prior to my 1st one. Eat lightly the day before. It'll make the prep a lot easier. Found out the hard way it's true.

Phish..........didja get a snowplow???????

Fife.......the Altoona Train Show is March 11. Maybe we can get together.

Had plans to watch the State of the Union but don't think I'm gonna make it.

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Might as well call the March issue the Coffeepot edition with two of us making the issue.  Good pic, Buckeye.  Semi busy day at work.  Daughter is doing better and wife is getting some rest at night as well while taking care of daughter.  Weather was sunny today.  Before I forget, check out an article from a few days ago on the Trains Newswire page.  Look for a picture of an UP engine as it is about a boys' love of trains.  Here is the link:  http://trn.trains.com/news/news-wire/2018/01/26-up-gives-young-railfan-who-died-of-cancer-touching-farewell  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening,

The neck is about 90% better; I did not take any pain medicine today. I left work early to return my rental car and shop for a used vehicle. After about four stops I finally found one. I am pleased with it and I am confident it will run well for some time. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and are watching the State of the Union address now, and then I am off to bed.

Buckeye - Congratulations again!  If you look back a few pages on this thread, you will read where I already congratulated you on the photo.  As a digital subscriber, I receive my CTT about a week or so before the print edition.

Good night,

Joe

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments about the photo. (Joe, I saw your comment, but didn't understand it since I had not received the March issue.)  The video taken that day was is one of the best in my collection.  The youngest is yelling "pig" when he sees the pigs on the side of the SP trailiers.  Big Smile  Notice in the photo the switch tower is on fire while in the video the tower is dark.

The Williams NJ Central locomotive is the older grandson's.  Chuck helped me pick out this engine saying they were really reliable and would be great for the grandson.  It is running in conventional mode and the grandson is operating it with a CAB-1.

Morning.  Only 35 degrees this late.  May hit the 40's.  Tomorrow, 60's.  Crazy.  Sunny so that helps.

Miss the old Chuck.  Was thinking about him the other day while in the Train Box.

Love running trains for the kids.

Twins running trains a year ago.  You would be surprised at the little girls that want to see the trains run.

Stay warm.

Hi All!

A quick pop in on my lunch break.

Buckeye - Great picture! "Pig Train", that's awesome. Big Smile

Chief - Another good picture. Seeing the "youngin's" enjoying the trains gives me hope for the future of our hobby and get that Vette!!! I always wanted one too, but my Camaro is a decent runner-up, I suppose.

Banks - That's a decent deal, especially with unlimited data. I still have my S5 and other than the battery not lasting as long too, it's still does the job.

Don - Your suggestion taking the Mrs. for dinner is not a bad idea. I'll test the water first.......

Have a good one and prayers.

Rob

Evening all!

It hit 73 today, but a "cold" front tonight so only 62 tomorrow! 55 Friday.

Got my CTT today. Nice issue and now I understand "page 9" - congrats to Mike C (nice article! Learned something new, that is a nice little set) and Buckeye!

Continued work in the garage today as the temps were very pleasant! Making progress. Got another load of boxes for shredding Saturday and recycle set out Monday.

Good evening,

It was quite brisk and windy today. It was around 26 when I left for work and I think the high reached 38.  It could snow this weekend and I sure hope it does. I would love to finalize my track plan and start building this weekend. It is time for bed now.

Chief/Buckeye - Great photo and video.

Good night,

Joe

Another month is almost gone.  I am still having dental work done.  Should be done by next week.  Went to Dixieland Jazz Club Sunday and enjoyed that.  My oldest son and I have made reservations to fly back to Norfolk, Virginia to see my brother in Suffolk and then drive down to Jacksonville, N.C. to see my sister.  Both of them have stage 4 cancer.  I need someone to go with me to help me get through all the airports and stuff so now I'm in good hands.  Had to send my portable oxygen concentrator out for repairs.  I need it when I fly and sleep.  I have a bigger one in the house.  We won't be leaving until April 8th so I hope the weather will be better by then.  Looking forward to getting some Eastern Carolina Bar-B-Que and seafood while we are back there.  Had lunch at a place today and ordered pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and fries.  The slaw was too dry and the pork was in big chunks.  Hard to eat. Talk to you all next month.
