I have a Lionel O gauge Christmas Fastrack Girder Bridge, part 6-81249, that is supposed to replace a 10" straight. No matter where I put it in my layout, I lose power to the layout. I have checked the tabs and cleaned it and see no visible issue with it, but it simply does not work. Is it worth my time to take apart a piece of 10" track that does work and use its rails to replace the rails in the girder bridge? It's not really a complicated accessory so I am at a loss as to why it creates an issue. Thanks for any ideas or advice you may have.
If you have a meter, test the voltage across the bridge versus other spots along the track. Then isolate the bridge and test the resistance from one end to the other for each track.

Its a known issue from what ive heard with the Polar Express bridge too! Hard to believe Lionel even screwed up something as simple as a piece of track on a bridge. But not surprising given their current reputatiin for poor quality....
