Whistle Tender Contacts
Posted by H3R0Z3R0 on Thursday, December 14, 2017 3:16 PM

Hello!

I am currently restoring a whistle tender (I believe it is a 2046w) and I was wondering if it mattered what contacts go on each set of wheels.

Note: The poor wiring job was not done by me. I am replacing and resoldering them.

See schematic below. One wire to one contact roller, one to the other. Does not make any difference which wire goes to which contact roller

LOL, that is probably all original wiring. The yellow cloth covered stuff inside the tender looks like typical Lionel wire. The stuff running to the collectors had its insulation dry out, crack and break off.

Enjoy your project!
