Franklin "88" locomotive works in reverse only
Posted by skippygp123 on Friday, December 8, 2017 4:46 PM

I have a Franklin "88" steam locomotive with tender.  It was working fine until it got knocked off the train table and fell about 3 feet to the floor.  Nothing broke (that is visible) but now the unit will only run in reverse.

I've moved the lever on the bottom of the tender both up all the way and down as far as it will go.  Doesn't alter the reverse only direction of the locomotive.

Anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong?

Thanks!

I do not suffer from insanity...I enjoy every minute of it!!!      Over 60 and still playing with toys!

You may need to take the tender shell off and see if the reverse mechanism is moving when you cycle power.  It is not your drum type reverse unit.
