I got curious about the "plug and play" illuminated models that Bob Keller posted about a couple of days ago.
I poked around the Menards web site, but never found anything that told how much current the models draw. The power supplies' current ratings are specified; but there are only vague statements about how many of what you can power with them. How would one know which or how many power supplies to buy?
Has anyone come across the information that I couldn't find?

Well, since Woodland Scenics is making them I would assume it's a version of their "Just Plug" system. https://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/category/JustPlugLightingSystem Of course, I could be wrong, but the evidence strongly suggests it.
Trains, trains, wonderful trains. The more you get, the more you toot!
Go to Menards and look at the power supply or buck up and buy something. They have power supplies that can run more than one device. The stuff is nice, if you have a train layout and not a ton of money.

I won't be going to Menards,to look at the power supplies or to "buck up and buy" anything: My local Menards is 500 miles up IH35.
They say what the power supplies can put out, but not what the models draw. I'm sure that there are combinations of supply and model that would work; but there's no way to be sure what those combinations are.
You don't have to go to Menards, Go on line and buy something just like you can here.
I understand what your asking Bob but all they do say is 4.5 volts

looking at their buildings in the store no two have the same amount of lights.
I run two building and one Carnival ride off one power supply. Those rides have a motor and tons of lights. Buildings are just lights and signs.
This isn't the Just Plug system from Woodland Scenics, it is more along the line of the village lighting system from Lemax (barrel plugs). I didn't see anything on the vehcile boxes regarding power draw. Each vehicle has two front LEDs and two rear LEDs.

I've tested the voltage for about 6 of my Menards buildings, but can't remember if I switched the meter to amps or not.
