Me too, which is not to say that there aren't applications where such small wire is safe.  Number 26 AWG should be good for only a couple of amperes in such a cable.  Not enough for track current, but useful for throwing turnouts and operating some lights and accessories, as he says.

anybody ever use a rj21x to wire a layout    25 pins to connnect accessories, lights????
