Using a CTC lockon attached to the track, hook your transformer to the lockon connections.

Hook one wire to each terminal of the switch.

One wire gets connected to the coil of the track, and the other wire gets connected to terminal 1 of the lockon.

With the transformer on, turning on the switch will send power from the transformer to the coil.

Lionel postwar activator track & operating cars
Posted by Locojunkie on Monday, October 16, 2017 9:16 AM

Hello everyone, I recently purchased an operating car at a local auction. I have quite a few operating cars. I know that I need a activator track in order to make the cars work. The operating car came with a activator track but not one I am familar with. I believe it is an older  K Line activator track with a K line on/off switch. The track is exactly like the Lionel #6149 track. First, how can I wire this switch to the track so that I can make it work. Second, how can I wire up a single section of track to test these cars without setting up a whole layout in order to test 1 car for future reference.  Third, how is the lionel activator track wired for operation as well. Thank you in advance for your answers.
