If you could give a description of the engine and each of the cars from the set, I could look up the values for you.

The value of a train is based on many variables, most of important of which is its condition. Basically it is compared to how close it is to its orginal in the box condition at the time of purchase.

When I am trying to ascertain a ballpark value of a piece of equipment, I go to Ebay and see if I can find the same items and then watch the bidding. There are some books that give values of old trains that many times can be found at Barnes and Noble or your local library.

Good luck and [#welcome] to the CTT forum. [:)]

Value of a Marx Stream Line__Help
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, December 19, 2004 1:25 PM
A friendly hello!

I am not a collector. I own a Marx Stream Line electric toy train with remote, model # 3987. It was given to me in 1948 or 49.

Can anyone out there give me a ball park value of this train?

Thank you for your help!
Al
