Jon, That’s a Franklin Mint ‘59 Ford Hard Top Convertible. The trunk opens up and the top folds down into it, just like the 1:1 did.

Jon, How's it going? I just wanted to let you know that I am still running the Lionel milk car that you gave to me. Did you quit the OGR forum? Haven't seen you around there for a while. I come over here every so often and look around. Mostly lurk though, as evidenced by my number of posts.

The small car in the picture is BMW's (Yes a BMW isetta!!) return to the market in the 50's last century..
It's basicly a motorbike in an egg shaped jacket.
In Europe we didn't have those huge v8 powered automatic gear shifting cars with fins..
we had isetta's, cinquecento's, mini coopers, austin a35's and daffodils..
They where all in backpack-size and if you had seatbelts, you where warned not to use them, since the car would stuck on your back when getting out forgetting to unlock the seatbelt...

Dave - The Skyliner is 1/43 Franklin Mint car. I got mine from directly from Franklin Mint. The trunk lid opens and the hard top fold down into it. The engine hood also opens and has a very detailed 392 engine in it. I believe the price was around $55.00

Daan – I remember seeing the MBW Isetta back in the ‘50’s

BTW we also have a Mini Copper.

Laz 57 – the people are from Arttista. You can order them direct from them or Scenic Express also carries them now.

I just checked the franklin mint web site and they do not show it. Must be out of production. That is one neat car in real and scale, especially 1/43.

Has anyone noticed how many women figures on Spankybirds layout have a leg out to catch a ride?

Buckeye – What are you trying to say, that the women with good looking legs are trying to leave town [?]

Dave, I bought that car around 1997 or so. Here are a few more pics of it

Jon, I'm in Japan now. I'm stuck on a Marine base this time (MCAS Iwakuni). If I remember correctly, didn't you say you used to be a Marine before you went Army reserve?

Squadron was HAMS-36

Well, so far I'm enjoying my time over here. I get frustrated with the Marine Supply system, since they do stuff differant then the Navy does (I would have thought that since they are part of the Department of the Navy, that they'd do supply like the Navy does it, but they don't). Even though Prowlers (both Navy and Marine) have been coming here for a good number of years, there just is hard to get support. I do love the soba and the Kirin though.

Alfred, You just have to understand how the Marine Supply System works! If it cannot be stolen, then they have to wait for the Navy to wear it out ,then they can have it!![:D]
