Picked these up for a good price. Trolley runs good but has melt in roof, missing pole assy, and missing blue bumpers. I have a 60 trolley roof in nice shape and a trolley pole assy somewhere. Will they work on the 8690? All I have to do is paint the roof blue. Blue bumpers are available. There is also a blue 8690 roof on ebay.
The 6-9154 is all there except the tank car dome cover or hatch. Anyone have an idea where to get one? Or make one out of a bottle cap?

Why repaint a nice postwar Lionel #60 trolley roof if you can get the correct blue roof from EBay at a reasonable price? You might end up with a postwar trolley that needs a roof. By the way, most of the parts that are available on EBay can be purchased directly from one of the many Lionel parts dealers at a lower price.
The OE trolley pole and clip appear to be the same as the 60 trolley.
You are correct; the red roof I have is in good shape and does have the heat reflector on it. The Train Tender has a repo red roof for $8, but till I buy the paint I'll have $12 or more in it. So I'll get the OE blue one.
Is the "chrome"6-9154 tank car MPC?
