You could also make some cars to fit into the theme, like a flatcar with a whale or swordfish on it..

Hi Emmandy,
Great choice with the Chub Creek Bait Co. reefer, that's what my Dad brought me up on (RIP), when he took me to Canada in the summer. I would suggest the Lionel Reading Docksider that is out now if you could get it if not then look for the Santa Fe, they both run great.

Thanks guys I will look into those for him.
What do you guys think any chance of more Lure Licenced cars?
Because I think he will like these best.
Were they popular enough to make more types?

One of the aquarium cars is the "Gil Finns Trout Ranch" car. It lites up and lttle trout swim round and round. You could probably find one on e-bay.

There's a flat car with boat, kind of Chris Craft like, also by Lionel.

There was another one with boat anchors a few years ago too. More like ship anchors.

Oh, and then there is the "Port of Lionel City" train set. I looked at one of these on e-bay just last week.

Trains and Fishing

My father who recently retired collects antique fishing lures but wants / needs another more active and creative hobby so I got him a transition gift.

For X-mas I got him the MTH Chub Creek Bait co. reefer car. I also got him the two versions (red and blue) of Lionel double door scout boxcars lettered for Airex fishing lures. Eventually he would want an engine, so I thought a Docksider. I am sure the aquarium cars would fit into the theme as well. Maybe some flat cars modified to hold his favorite lures. I am sure if any manufacturer came out with more cars like this he would get them especially a Heddon lures car.

Is anything like this coming up prognosticators? Are there any other items he might be interested in if this lure hooks him?
