railsounds question
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, December 17, 2004 6:13 PM
I am currently looking to by an older tmcc lionel engine. I was told that some of the first generation RS tmccc engines sounded bad. I was wondering if anyone could give me a date when lionel's railsounds were up to par to todays standards. I was looking at buying an Sd-60 B.N. which I think came out around 1999.

I have a 1999Lionel NYC Hudson that has TMCC and RS. The sound is good, but not as good as the new RS. It seems that every year the sound has gotten better. The older Hudson is not so bad that I am thinking of selling it. I run it very frequently and still enjoy the sounds.

For the best sound from any engine, do something to deaden track noise.
