Could you be just a little more specific?  The wheels won't move while the locomotive's on the track with power going to it, or you can't turn them by hand?

By the way, I was going to get one of those Yankees sets myself, but decided against it.  The wife's a Mets fan, she has a sledge hammer and knows how to use it!

OK, if the tender works, and I'm sure the passenger cars are lighting up too, then obviously there's power to the track.  I'd suspect there's something very wrong with the locomotive as there's no "on-off" switch I'm aware of, UNLESS it's a "Lionchief-Plus" locomotive and you have to throw the switch on the underside for whichever mode you're running.  I'm guessing, I'm not sure what variety of locomotive's in the Yankees set.  You may have to bring it back to the dealer.

OK, I just looked it up and I see it's tranformer controlled. Considering the electronics in the locomotive anything could be wrong.

You can try this: www.lionelsupport.com

Look for "Product Intructional Videos"  and then "Troubleshooting."  Their videos are pretty good.

Oh yeah, when the wife gives me grief over liking the Yankees I tell her "My grandfather was a Yankees fan, my father IS a Yankees fan, my brother is a Yankees fan, and I'm not bucking tradition!"

Mind you I'm not a major sports fan at all, but I do like to hear about the Yanks winning one!

Thanks.  My father also was the first Yankee fan, even living in Brooklyn !!

Mr. 56, your father was a braaaaaave man!

Now my mother's a New York City girl, grew up in Manhattan with three brothers, one a Giants fan, one a Yankees fan, and one a Dodgers fan.  Can you imagine what it was like in THAT apartment?
