Possible collector item
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, December 11, 2004 4:37 PM
Jerry C on the night he had the 2 hour open fourm he mentioned that there would be another set of polar express coming out, but I have this sneaky feeling the 1st version will be way more popular as a collector item.
I have one sealed in the box for that very reason.
Guess it is not scale enough to use on the layout and kids are gone but just have it to say I have it.
Is that dumb thinking or not.
Dave.

I guess I would say sell it now while the hype is still on. More sets are being made (apparently), and they will be the same as the 1st. Any differences will not be apparent to the people who wi***o buy these sets for their children. It's a tough question. I don't believe these sets will be worth squat after Christmas, but it would be an interesting addition to the history of toy trains, as in the Little Engine that Couldn't. I personally would feel bad selling a train set that could be bought for under $200.00 six months ago for over $300.00, but that is your decision.
