Yes, for eBay you would go to O scale, then the sub of brass imports. This is a relatively new heading. Prior to this you would go to O scale, other manufacturers. I now check both for my O scale needs. The "other manufacturers" topic would pick up the 3rd Rail, brass, and custom or wood kits. The number of listings on any given day continue to grow and the variety of brass locos and cars has been surprising, with a lot of very good buys.

John at Pecos River Brass has retired and has his personal collection as well as store stock on eBay on a fairly regular basis. Some very beautiful O scale items and the prices have been almost cheap.

With the eBay prices being so reasonable in most cases for the brass models you can enjoy having the model in use for a month or years and get most it not all of your money back when it comes time to replace the item.

Dave,
You're probably familiar with the brass models, but I think they are the only ones that are accurate. eBay has had quite a few of the US Hobbies UP steel cupola cabooses as of late, and at very reasonable prices. Third Rail imported a factory painted UP wood style caboose a few years ago and they pop up from time to time. I have three UP locos and have always been on the hunt for cabooses for them, but so far in plastic nothing comes close to looking like the prototype. Swapping out trucks on the USH models for 3 rail operation is a snap.
