They bought all of the leftover K-Line parts when Lionel dumped what was left.

electricrr.com makes great TMCC kits. I have converted several older Lionel locomotives from the 80's and 90's to TMCC with sound with their DC commander unit. I am in the process now of converting an old MTH 0-8-0 switcher made in the 90's to TMCC. If it sounds blaphemous to covert MTH to TMCC, remember a lot of guys put Chevy small block V-8s in old Fords...........
and theres www.electricrr.com which is actually owned by lionel. they may have a sound board that will work as some of the Kline got there soundboards and all from Lionel.

Hate to be a bearer of bad tidings, especially at this time of year, but chances are it's a blown (sound) circuit board, and since K-Line's out of business your only chance of replacing it is a search of the parts dealers with fingers crossed.
You could try Dallee Electronics, they're a CTT advertiser, to see what might be available in their inventory you may be able to use. I haven't used them myself but some CTT Forum posters have and have had good luck with them.
And there's always the Williams by Bachman True Blast Plus drop-in sound systems. They've got three versions, EMD 567 engine with horn and bell, EMD 710 with "H and B", and ALCO 244 with "H and B." I'm not sure if they'll fit your K-Line engine but you can always mount them in one of your LIRR passenger cars, they're a super easy install, I speak from experience.
Count yourself ahead of the game if your engine still works normally even if there's no sound.
Good luck!
PS: I assume you've inspected the engine with the "skin" off to look for the usual suspects, that is broken wires, bad battery (if it has one) and so on.
Hi. I'm new in these parts. I have a K-Line model #K2439-0256, LIRR Francis Gabreski GP38-2 Diesel Engine, Real Sounds engine that has stopped making sound. All I get is intermittent crackle, static noise from the speaker - when it makes any sound at all. The first round of inquires I've made suggest I'm out of luck. But, hope spings eternal. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong and how I might might either fix it, or get it fixed? Thanks!
