Good suggestions Becky, VERY good indeed!  There's certainly enough material there for an additional fifty to seventy-five pages.

Possibly even a DVD insert starring Messers Carp and Keller?

As a matter of fact, I sent a message to CTT earlier today through the "Contact Us" link suggesting a hardcover edition of "A to Z."  If any of you feel the way I do send them a message as well.  Who knows?  It may happen.

Firelock76
hard-cover copy of "Electric Trains From A to Z"

I was thinking about that too.  But I'd suggest doubling it in size and adding more terminology aimed at the beginner.  And maybe some diagrams too for the entries on E-Units, track gauge, etc and even a few track plans.  It would be the best and most inclusive toy train primer on the market, that's for sure.  And I'd buy it just for the fun of reading it repeatedly!

Trains, trains, wonderful trains.  The more you get, the more you toot!  Big Smile

All content and no ads?  I don't know about that, remember one of the ways, if not the primary way, media, print or others, make money is by presenting you the reader/viewer to the advertiser.

And on the other hand, the ads let you the reader know who's got what and what's coming down the pike.

I suppose it could be done, but at an increased cost to the reader, and quite frankly I don't think the mag would be quite as much fun without the ads.

Now here's a question for all, would you be willing to purchase a hard-cover copy of "Electric Trains From A to Z" if one was available?  I would!  I think it's that good and would like to have it in a more durable form that would last for years.  I'd proudly give it space on the bookshelf.

Good evening all,

It is a good issue.  Got me thinking.  I think there is about 100 pages of content and no ads and newstand/order price was $12.  I wonder how much CTT subscribers would be willing to pay for a year's subscription if the magazine was all content and no ads?  Would it be feasible from a business standpoint?  Just an idea.

Keep on training,

This might be in bad taste, but "E-Trains A to Z" is going to take up permanent residence in one of the bathrooms here at the "Fortress Firelock."

Hey, otherwise it's wasted time, ya know?

I got mine at a local Barnes and Noble a few days ago, a great piece of work!

No way is this going into the recycle bin or the magazine rack at the gym!

Mine arrived yesterday!  I'm only half way through but I already think this is possibly the best primer on toy trains I've seen!  Well done guys!  Big Smile
