York - October 2016
Posted by Nationwidelines on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 10:25 AM

York is rapidly approaching!

I have my badge in the car and have my plans made.  I am planning for a relaxing trip this fall, as I will not be selling and am planning some fun activities for the drive there.

Planning to leave the Chicago area on Friday, October 14 and meet a friend from California, in Indianapolis.  We are going to drive east and visit another train collector on Saturday afternoon.  I am looking forward to that, as his collection and home sounds incredible.

Saturday evening we are going to be somewhere southeast of Pittsburgh, as we have reservations to tour Fallingwater on Sunday morning.  My friend is really looking forward to that, as he has always wanted to see it and the fall colors should make for a spectacular tour.

After Fallingwater, we are going to drive on to York!  Will be in York from Sunday evening through Friday afternoon and then drive home.

I am looking forward to being able to shop for trains, BS with the guys, and relax.  I go with the attitude that I do not have to find any specific item and if I see something I like and want, that is priced fair, I will probably buy it.  I never go with the attitude that I have to find a specific item or my trip will be a failure, as that leads to one not having fun.

Lately it seems that York for me is more about meeting up with friends, making new friends, and just having a good time.

The last 2 York trips (April 16 and Oct 15) were a bit busy for me as I was disposing of an estate for a friend's family.  Last October I spent 6 days selling, between the pre-show and main show, and it was a lot of work.  In April I decided to cut back and only sold at the pre-show.  That was a bit easier on me, as I was not required to stay for the whole week.

Hope everyone who is going, has fun and a safe trip!
