 Good afternoon,

Jim, it did feel good to sleep all night, first time in a long time.

Well we had two drips and a drop of rain and otherwise been a nice day.

Not much going on here. Kit bashing a pre-war 617 passenger car into a track side diner. It is working out pretty good so far. Making the decking, stairs and overhead sign still.

I hear some pipeline that supplies gas to you guys on the east coast broke and leaked and now there is going to be a shortage on the east coast. Hold on to your wallets. Any reason to kick up the price.  Angry

Brent,

The other fathers probably aren't that brave. Wink  Anyway you could get TheQ involved with it too?

She will be as involved with is as possible. We need someone to stay home with Matthew, but she will help out with her badges and stuff like that. Camping is my responsibility... and I've got no problem with that. Just need a new pack, sleeping bag, mess kit, and some other odds and ends that are no longer servicable from my BSA and Army days.

Good morning,

That is great news RT, I am so happy you are recovering well.

I had a great trip to Italy this past week.  It was a work trip and I was busy, but I was still able to quickly see most of the major attractions, especially when I was in Rome.  The family and I will definitely make a trip there at a later time so we all can explore it more.

Roy - I am sorry for your loss.

Brent - Don't hurt yourself on the Bowflex. Big Smile

Doug M. - Congratulations to your son.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 64 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Gave my sister a big box of layout goodies yesterday, as the layout is slowly starting to dissapear.  Trains can still run for the moment, however the track is becoming dirty from all the stirring around.  Gonna try and catch up with Fifepup today, as our time together is growing short.

rt - So glad your surgery went well, and that you are able to report in.  Please be a good patient.

88 & v8 - Thanks for the feedback.

Morning all from a rainy Great White North. I was hoping to take my father and son to the air show in London, ON today, but I guess I'm going to have to scrap it due to the weather. :( RT- best wishes in your recovery. Just don't be thinking about the Mike Wolf/ Lou Palumbo conspiracy!! :) 88 - hats off for stepping up to lead the girls. I know when I was between wives I spent a lot time helping my girls do some baking and playing Barbie's, etc. and I wouldn't have changed doing that for anything. Have a good weekend everyone. Go Blue, Go Packers, Go Blue Jays (the AL East is a log jam!) and Go Team Canada!!

Good Morning from beautiful 70F Southern Ohio

It rained during the night so the grass cutting will be delayed.  One of the yards, my mother in law’s did not get cut last week so it will be bad.

The family and a couple of the kid’s friends went to the high school football game last night and our team won 28 - 19.  It was a really good game.

I replaced the “O” rings in the power steering pump yesterday, but confirmed the water pump is leaking.  I’m going to farm that job out because my bride cannot do without her van for the time it would take me to do the job.

RT - Glad to hear from you!  I’m keeping you in my prayers for healing, and for your caregivers.

May God bless

Jim

Wayne the twist in mine I didn't mentioned they took out my Defibrillator and the leads to it.

Afternoon all. Did a long walk about the size of a football field up and back down. Felt real good.
Suppose to do 3 more walks today  :). I enjoy them as they help get the pain out of my back.
Taking it easy hope to get out but not rushing it either.

RT good to know you are doing better, Keep it up. Yes

I need a nap,,,,,,,,,Just cut up a tree that was across the south trail. Kind of funny, It just leaned over but did not snap off so when I cut the top it sprung up. I knew it would do that so it was no big deal. Then I cut about 10' of it so it would not be on the trail and stacked it on the wood pile. Way tired from so little work. But I got it done.

Daughter's  headlight assemblies came today for her equinox. Her old ones were filling up with water for some reason and after looking at it I did not think I could re-seal them so she just ordered new ones. We got them from RockAuto.

Watched the race and having a beer.

Have a good night.

Quiet day here.  Went to visit my wife at noon with one of my sons.  Spent some time with him this afternoon.  Going out to eat with a friend at 6:00PM.  My son brought me some nice two piece storage boxes to pack up some of my trains in.  I need more room on the layout.  Need to pack up/sell the overload.

later,

Ray

Good morning,

We had a busy Saturday yesterday.  The older son had a soccer game (his team lost badly) and then we finished setting up the spare bedroom.  Today we will relax and my wife's great aunt and husband will visit us for dinner tonight.  He is a military retiree who spent time in Germany years ago and likes to return so they are spending a montho or so traveling Germany.  There were some exciting college football games yesterday and I am glad PSU won.  I will not be watching any NFL games today.

Go RT.  Do what Dr's say.  Tubes in chest???  Deep breath and they snatch them out. Surprise  Didn't hurt.  Just felt funny.

Morning all.  Had Chamber bar-b-q cook off yesterday from 8 AM to 6 PM.  Long day.  Had to judge 35 plates of bar-b-q.  Was full when finished.  Long day but was fun.

Hope all have a great week ahead.

Evening all!

Not much to say. Thanks for the kind thoughts. Wrote some stuff up for my friends brother to use at the memorial service.

RT - prayers continue Angel

Kev - nice job and glad you are feeling better.

Kev and G Bear - My doc told me a few years back when I messed up a tendon in my right arm. There is good news and bad news. The good news is it will heal. The bad news is it will take 2 to 10 years. Luckily it only took 2.

Don - good to have the regular reports.

Fifer - That lumber would be worth more than most of my furniture. Laugh

Hello Roy,

Saw the doctor on friday about my ankle.  1. There is mild osteopenia with mild degenerative joint space narrowing.  2. Mild irregularities and sclerotic changes in the distal tibia from old trauma, broken leg back in 2000.  3. No evidence of recent acute fracture or dislocation is seen.

I'll see my primary doctor for follow up.  If necessary I can be seen and treated at either the Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa or at Saint Helena Hospital in Saint Helena, both are really good hospitals.

Roy, thanks for sharing the information about what you went through  concerning your right elbow.  I Hope you are doing better.

RT  Take care of yourself. Yes  I'm really glad that you had the heart surgery.  God Bless you.

Prayers for those in need and for those who are ill. Angel

God Bless

Good evening all,

"My" soccer girls won in shoot out Saturday despite some very poor officiating that led to two of the girls being hurt.   Game is not worth kids getting hurt.  Did 5 miles today.  First two were in 28:04, but tapered off after that.   AJ's team ended the season the same way it started....dismally.   I hope everyone has  a good day.

Aloha. Looks like a pleasant summer day today in downtown Chicago - supposed to reach 85. Fife, PODS are great. I helped a neighbor load two. He even got the second last-minute from them when he realized he had more stuff than he thought. As Brent said, they bring them right to where you want them and leave them in the driveway. They're pretty basic and built much lighter than a typical box van - light lexan roof lets in light; walls you can punch a screwdriver through, but with tie-downs, and a plywood floor that's raised a bit from the frame. They're inexpensive too compared to the truck.

Brent, you'll enjoy Daisys - I did the leader thing - and Indian Princesses too.

Jim, I have a 785 too but not the original but the repro. I love it.

Mornin' Fellas

Had a nice relaxing weekend with the family! Saturday we loaded up the kids and went to Dowell/Solomons, MD for their annual Artsfest. We hadn't been to it since Christina and Matthew's arrival, and it hadn't changed much - only got bigger. We got a couple things for us and some Christmas presents. I saw a superb painting done by a local (New Market, MD) artist of the Point of Rocks train station in winter with a C&O steam engine (didn't get to look closer to see the type as the kids were acting up), and a clock made out of no. 394? rotary beacon base and a Hiawatha Pre-War engine. It was interesting, but not worth $450!

Got the last coat of paint put on the office doors and got the inside of the front door done yesterday and got the office doors rehung. Looks really nice to have all the trim and doors in the entry a bright white instead of a dull antique white. Now the only rooms on the first floor that need the trim painted are the dinning and living rooms. Not sure if I will do those next, or move on to the basement (going from a dungeon like gray to a khaki color) - not looking forward to repainting the wainscotting though.

RT - glad you are doing well. follow the Dr's orders and get better!

Chief - 35 plates of BBQ? Do you look like Veruka Salt from Willie Wanka's Chocoloate Factory after eating the blueberry gum?

I'm hoping for April if not next October.

Morning all. It looks like I;m heading back to the V.A. today but again that could be midnight lol.

From there they need to set up a home nurse and then transportation to get me home, in that order.

Fife I have considered PODs in the pasat and they make sense to me also.

Good evening,

A busy and productive Monday here.  The day started with an easy 2-mile run.  My workout routine has not been normal since we moved and my hectic travel schedule doesn't help.  Not much is going on tonight; we had leftovers for dinner and now I need to pick up the older son from soccer practice.

Good night,

Joe

My actual surgeon that did the open heart surgery came in this evening saying tomorrow is the transfer, as they need to get a few things in place ( ie. therapy, insure I come back and see him one time for sure.) So we are moving forward   :).

Not much else is going on.
Hope all are doing well, and thanks for the best wishes

Good evening all,

Fairly good day at work.  Pain two was her snarky self.  Good weather for walk.  Only had 9 show for tonight's game so a 2-0 loss was not too bad.   I hope everyone has a good  day.
