Just changed transformers from Lionel ZW/wbricks to MTH Z4000. Operate conventionally. My 8050-t Lionel Lines with on/off switch performed fine with ZW. Chuffing (even at standstill), whistle, bell, train talk. Now with MTH have chuffing, traintalk, sometimes whistle -- which also activates traintalk as with ZW, no bell. Do not get any whistle or bell when coupled to loco -- in this case Lionel 2046. As stated, we're new to MTH transformer. Any help?
It should work, my Lionel stuff works well with my MTH transformers, although I don't have a Z-4000, Z-1000's are as big as I go.
Try flipping the wires from the transformer to the layout, in other words switch the posts they hook up to, see if that helps.
