Here is the three motor Santa Fe ALCO A-B set pulling 23 cars. Note the log cars have real log loads. These cars are not light cars and it was not for string lining in the 34” ½ curve I could pull even more. What a beast!!

Looking good. That is about the same length of train that I have had behind my beast. I had 3 heavy duty 4 truck drop deck flat cars in my train. Had to shuffle the cars around until I found a combinations where the couplers would stay latched.
I noticed that with these long trains the slack in the couplers demanded a smooth start and stop.

Right 8N and best if you start up with most of the cars not on a curve. That is hard to do with the size of our layout.
