Welcome aboard!
Check the top of this website and click on "Resources." You'll find listings for upcoming train shows and model railroader groups in your area. It's pretty darn accurate.
if you would contact some place like trainworld/traincity in person would be better and just ask if they knew how to get in touch with some train clubs in the area that are O gauge you would might be surprise. Usually your local hobby shops know of all the clubs/groups in the area. ( who are they going to be going to for stuff)

Hi I'm new to the forums. I'm looking to build a simple layout that could bring back my childhood memories. Now that I could afford and enjoy it I am looking to meet with trains enthusiasts. People that are in my area of queens and Long Island that have train meeting so we can share our ideas. Your feedback is appreciated. Thank you.
