Firelock76 I saw some of those Darstaed trains at the last train show I attended. Gorgeous pieces! Came VERY close to buying a (British) Southern Railway 4-6-0 plus passenger cars but held off, this time anyway. I'm not into European prototypes. MAYBE I'll take the plunge if I can find an O scale Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson to go with the train!

I have just read about this O gauge locomotive and want to share what was written about them. The model is powered by a DC 0-24 Volts custom motor made by Mabuchi of Japan. The output is via a beveled gear or worm drive into a gear train through several gears to each of the three axles of the main drive wheels. This promotes a vastley improved tractive effort. This locomotive will pull with ease no less than fiftheen 35cm double bogie main line tinplate coaches. For more information go to the Darstaed website.
