3424 Brakeman Car Question
Posted by pullman jct on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 4:17 PM

The 3424 brakeman car gets tripped by the ground contact of the 3656 cattle car corral. The 3424 instruction sheet advises to place an extra contact clip near the corral to restore the brakeman to the upright position but there is a complication. The corral only trips the brakeman in one direction. If the car is going the other way, the corral does not trip the brakeman and the extra clip will knock him down and out of sequence. I am thinking of covering part of the grounding clip with electrical tape or something to insulate one side. Does anyone have a slick solution to this problem?

You got it right - cover the side of the extra clip opposite the ground contact of the corral.
