Jim,

Its been great to have you back and posting again. I've missed your presence and positive influence.

It was great to log in this morning and find that you had started SPF as in the good old days.  I always looked forward to logging in on Sunday morning and finding your first post.  So here is my contribution.  The Blueboard Central Division of American Flyer Lines

Nice guys!!

Not much to show but I did get the latest addition for the yard that I had not received yet for the last SPF. . A  Missouri & Pacific A-A set from 1957 or 58.

KRM, love your post, those 205s are nice....I thought for a second that David Smith was posting....haven't seen much of his work lately, but I bet he is busy and will surprise us..

I have many 210, 211 Texas Specials....I got my first set with some trains my parents found at a yard sale..The 210 set, a 1615 set, a ZW...all for $50.00, the man was selling them because his kids weren't interested in trains.

I wasn't interested in the 210s at that time either and just left them in the box...after all a piece of the front was borken off....One season when I was hit by the train bug, I decided to customize and repair my 210s...rebuilt the nose with cut plastic, added windows, filled in the e-unit slots, added steps, extra motor to the dummy unit, drilled out the port holes and added some other detail to try to like these units...They looked good, but somehow I wasn't satisified...so then I bought a set of 211's that I found cheap, now I had it good, 210, 211 set, after all that is how you see it on the real railroad.   added wires between the units for 1 e-unit to operate.  Then started to run 2 motored, 1 dummy, elephant style. anyhow to make a long story short the more I worked on these, the more I liked them, yet what I really wanted was the 209 NH set....    Then I bought another set of 210s in thier original boxes.... but it doesn't stop there...I want to add sound to the dummy, and add an interior with an engineer like Lionel now does.... well anyhow those unwanted, broken, put to the side 210s that came home that day have given me more enjoyment than I could ask for... if I don't have a layout, I have something good to tinker with...   I even think of making my own B unit, as I want a motorized B, and will have to cut some A frames. and use the 1/2s of A bodies...but that is the fun.    Anyhow like your picture...HNW...Alan

ps, I just recently learned that Lionel made a 2nd set of Missouri Pacifics, I think the number is 219... I wish the real railroad had saved some of these for the local switching.. here where we live we got to see the real FL9s for a long time..

Thanks Alan.
I also like the 200 series Lionel ALCOs and have a few. I have my original 218 Santa Fe A-B set and have added a 218T and a 218 Dummy for a A-BB-A set.  I also have a MPC era Santa Fe A-B 8020 & 8021 with another 218 powered unit that make it into a A-B-A set with two powered engines.

And not to forget my first train. The Union Pacific 202.  They all run great and are affordable to own. Like you I have been inspired by the B unit that 8N has made and posted pictures of here on the forum and am in the process of building a two motor B unit for my 218 set.  I have just this week purchased a 210 A-B set basket case to cannibalize for parts for the duel motor B unit.

The 209s have a great paint scheme but are hard to find. I would love a set of them as well.
Enjoy the fun!   Big Smile
Kevin

P.S. Yep, RT almost got them away from me and could of if he would of bid one cent more. Laugh  Wink

On the way back to the North Pole, Santa stopped off at West Allis, Wisconsin.

And picked up a new TS-300 motor scraper for the elves at the North Pole DPW.

Apparently there will be more developement in the future, so he also brought back a HD21 dozer, to boot.

The big man couldn't help himself, and jumped up for a closer look.  Love that Persian orange.

He also picked up a Lionel 6-36775; in SANTA Fe, of course...

Rudy is checking out the "competition."
