The servotester has 3 modes of operation the three modes of operation are manual adjust - servo rotates in conjunction with rotation of potentiometer, neutral position - servo centers itself in neutral or middle position, and automatic "window wiper" - servo independently cycles back and forth.

The trouble is the servodriver he is using. you can't program it to stop.

What you say is true but as long as the servotester being used has voltage it does not stop and the servo motor keeps running. There is no way to tell the servotester being used to stop running except to disconnect power. Thanks for your reply.

I contacted the auhthor and here are his comments. I hope they help:

"Servomechanisms move back and forth depending on the signal from the servodriver. When the freight car first approaches the proximity sensor, the servo driver signals the servo to rotate CW, moving the figure forward. When the freight car moves back, the servo driver signals the servo to rotate CCW which moves the figure smoothly back to its original position. One of the neat features of servos is they can be controlled for position and speed of movement."

In the February issue fuel station upgrade by Robert Walker is a great idea but I see some problems. First the servo tester used has no input for the relay. Second I see no way of stopping the servo motor once the fuel man appoaches the engine, therefore the man will keep moving back and forth. Also showing the connections to the servo motor would be nice
