DCC is mainly associated with H.O. & N scale trains and scale O(2 rail).

With O gauge(3 rail)it is command control with either TMCC(Lionel) or DCS(MTH-PS-2 & 3). You can run your older Lionel on DCS under track voltage, not sure what setting to use with TMCC.

Interested in southest Pennsylvania railroads; Reading & Northern, Reading Company, Reading Lines, Philadelphia & Reading.

You have to understand the audience here is mostly Classic Toy trains, meaning 3-rail O or 2-rail S. Our trains can be Lionel or newer MTH but what unites most of us is AC powered like the trains from your father.

There is a small segment of this hobby that does collect and run brass but for most of us the fun is in running our toy trains and not worring about the details. Personally I gave up HO years ago as too hard to see. I found more enjoyment running my Lionels and MTH than I would with a highly detailed brass O or HO set.

Hi, Guys and Gals

Merry Christmas

I have began putting together my Lionel layou, because it's the easiest place to star. My Lionel is Post War handed down from my father.

I asked if you can run your Lionel trains with regular DCC  O gauge Trains I prefer Brass, and most veterans said NO.

Do other modelers feel that your limited if you run only Lionel, I do Love the size of the O gaug.

So I guess I will have to have 3 layouts eventally Lionel O gauge, O gauge, and HO gauge, any suggestions.

Have a Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. I haven't forgotten any of you I've been learning to fly a radio contro plane Gas.

Ha you know how the Old Timers talk about Model Railroading I found myself after my Dad put the original 4*6 layout track together at 12:30 am looking on how to improve the Layout and the things I wanted to do and where I want to go with this Layout. Crazy right

Merry Christmas
