I have another variation of the engine, the 495. It sounds like yours is probably a prewar 39? Series engine, although I would have to see pictures to be certain.

Marx price guide says $110 to $185, however getting that kind of price is a different story.

I recently inherited a marx 3000 american flyer from my grandfather. It has high sentimental value, but out of curiosity does anyone know it's cash value? Or its grade? I will try to post pictures
