Well, I wouldn't consider myself a postwar collector, I'm really an operator.  My philosphy is "If I like it, I buy it, especially if it's a good deal!"

I do own four post-war steamers that I got the aforementioned good deals on, and they ARE fun to run!  Those old air whistles have a very charming sound to them, and I've always loved that E-Unit buzz, it's like an orchestra warming up before the symphony begins.

I praised the special issue because it's a cracking good read!

You must collect a lot of stuff from that period.  There were so many quality items produced then.  I admit it's got good stuff, but my favorite is the accessory issue.  It covers the evolution of accessories from the earliest period to the modern era.

Something I'd like to see is a book/magazine that details the BEST versions of postwar reissues.  Improvements to all of those great items from 1950-1954 have been made over the years.  Which ones are best?  Which operate the best?  Which have the best detailing?

I have read this special issue from cover to cover so many times now, I need to order a 2nd copy for preservation purposes.

IMHO, this is the BEST run of any train magazine ever, as I always find something within it I did not notice before, and in fact as my collection expands, I keep finding sections that are pure gold to me.

If you do not own this CTT special issue yet buy it before it's gone!

The combination of Vintage Ad's, photos of all your favorite Post War Lionel Trains, and great insight and articles from Roger Carp, and the rest of the CTT team is priceless.
