From what I have found in literature, is that only the 2671W or WX tenders had back up lights, and the 2046's didn't. The bodies used on both were the same, with only the 6 wheel trucks used on the 2671, and 4 wheel trucks on the 2046. Otherwise they are the same, and from Doyle"s Catalog, it mentions that 1952-1955 was when the holes were filled in.
The backup lights were closed back when it was the 2671wx I believe
Does anyone know what year Lionel closed the Back Up Light holes in the 2046W Tender? Thank you. Demaree
