lionel 6264 flat car for forklift
Posted by northernpike on Saturday, September 19, 2015 10:31 PM

Just picked up a 6264 flat car missing the timber.

Anyone have this car?  Need the dimensions of the timber to mill some up so it looks right.

Thanks

Tom

You could check this site then mesure your car and cut the 12 timbers to fit.

Have you checked parts dealers such as Olsen Toy Trains or The Train Tender?  Lots of others out there too - I just don't remember their names at the moment.

Good luck.

My original timbers are approximately 7/32 inch square (just under 1/4 inch) and 3-1/2 inches long.  I wanted to have some fun on a holiday layout, and I wanted the forklift to unload from the car some 5/16 inch diameter candy canes that I had cut.  The forklift as built would not hold them, so I cut out a piece of metal from a tin can top, put a little curve in it, and clipped it to the original black metal piece on the end of the forklift.  The grandkids have a great time unloading the candy canes!
