My good friend Lee Willis has his beautiful layout being feartured in the upcoming October issue of CTT. Lee is a master modeler and a very clever gentleman. He is also known for his recently published books about Super Streets and his fictional novel about Veranda Turbine.
This is an issue of CTT that you will not want to miss.
Lee is a craftsman, and his work with SuperStreets and SS vehicles is amazing.

Lee is still very active in our hobby. You can see his latest projects as well on the Model Train Forum.
Lee is gifted, for sure. He spends his time at modeltrainforumdotcom these days.
Lee has a true passion for our O-Gauge hobby. His imagination and know-how and his willingness to share what he has learned sets him apart.
Very pleased to see CTT has so honored him.
Lee Willis is still working for his company.
Can somebody get Lee to post a topic on this forum?

If no one has ever done it that way, it might be fun to try.
I just got my copy of CTT in the mail yesterday. I enjoyed the article on Lee Willis and his layout, and what he did with the Super Streets vehicles. Like Lee W. I too don't spend much money on layout table construction, just have a couple sheets of 5/8 plywwood mounted on saw horses with 2 by 4's. I am more into running my trains then having an expensive table brace system. I use # 12 AWG wire from my transformer to the tracks because I had it on hand, # 16 AWG would work from my transformer as I put in 7 amp breakers after the output terminals.
A little FYI on my layout; just got the upper level finished, it is about one foot from the ceiling and I use 027 track for it. Also installed some track lighting before the track around the room. Need to find an auxillary power feed to the train room(10 ft. by 12 ft. with a closet) as my lighting and transformers may draw more then 15 amps, plus the train room is on the bathroom circuit too. Next is the main layout after putting up a new door on the room, a bi-fold door, so I can bring in the plywood sheets.
I'm looking foward to this! I used to follow all of Lee's fun threads at another forum. His creativity and enthusiasm for the hobby is both refreshing and addictive.
I've just read the article on Lee Willis' layout, and to say it's stunning is putting it mildly. What a craftsman!
I did get a laugh out of the fact that Mr. Willis in spite of (or maybe because of) his background in electrical engineering stays away from remote control operations and runs conventional. Me too, brother! I work with some electronics and don't trust 'em 100% of the time either!
Can't fail with the KISS rule.
Scratching your heads over this? Don't. It's said doctors and nurses make the worst patients! Wonder why?
Lee WILLIS I have registered for this forum, but am still new at operating it. I will try to participate. Thanks all, Lee

Nice to see folks like Lee receive this recognition. It is well deserved.
CTT, with Lee's skills, you might want to consider him as a regular contributor to your fine magazine.
Lee's skills are indeed awe inspiring. I have followed his work through many projects and I hope he will post some of those projects here. I would particularly like to see him post the stories of some of the detectives on his layout.
PTC,
Your skills are no less inspiring. I hope you will post some photos of your layout, and especially the Polar Express layout that you and your wife have completed.
