I agree with Big al I have the Williams version never have ran it but it is on displayed on a shelf in my room. I personally don't care it's not Lionel the only Lionel one I would want is the original from the 50's but thats out of my price range

The 38340 is a reporoduction of the 1957 version. Unlike the original this version does not come with track or a transformer. The set is special in only that it comes mint in boxes. If you want to pay $600 for a $300 train set then go for it. However the value will fall in half as soon as you open the box.
If you intend on setting up and running the set I reccomend you look into a Bachman/Williams reproduction.

To any member that can help me. I am in the market to purchase a Girls set and I am looking at the latest version that was produce in 2010. The model number is 6-38340. Is this set have some sort of being special set? I was told there is something special about this set. Any information would be helpful. I know the set that was produce on 2002 I believe this set is 11700 is not much of a engine.
