After doing about 100 022 switches, I can tell you that it takes me about an hour to restore one of them.  Furthermore, I can tell you that even some newer ones I bought that were new in the box needed some work.  I don't know who you are going to get to restore the switches.

Hi servguy I just replaced the switch now the train works fine. I have a few postwar switches that needs tweaking I think I am going to send them out to get fixed I just don't like to mess with these.

Also, check my post for restoring 022 switches:  "022/711 switch operating pblms"

Search for it using Google

Check the tip of the fat rail.  It may be bent down too far.  If you are running cars with sliding shoe pickup, the end of the fat rail (if it is bent up too far) can contact the sliding shoes and uncouple the cars if the sliding shoes are connected to the coupler coils.

Mth steam turbine stalls on 022 switch
Posted by bigdogjeff on Thursday, March 12, 2015 10:11 AM

hi all I have a mth steam turbine PS3 and it wants to stop on 2 out of 7 switches that I have. The one switch it's like a little twich when it goes through but the other it stalls completely if it runs slow if fast then it twitches through. But if I run the train the opposite way no problem no twitch but all my other train go through these switches without a problem. These switches are 022 lionel postwar. I cleaned the switches and also the rollers on the train. I also oiled the roller but no better.anyone able to help me.
