The Super Chief was an all-Pullman (sleeper) train between Chicago and Los Angeles. The El Capitan was an all-coach train between Chicago and Los Angeles. These two trains were the fastest Chicago-Los Angeles train that the Santa Fe operated. The War Bonnet was the design on the front of locomotives.

Thank you for your response.  Much appreciated.  I just purchased a Lionel "6-11711 War Bonnet"  without any further designation.  What might it be?

Also, do you know what passenger cars would be appropriate for these F-3 diesels?

Google is a great thing. Here is a link to what you purchased. http://www.collector-modeltrains.com/dash/universe/catalog_item/MT-0292233/

Looks like a pre-TMCC railsonds ABA set. A nice set of silver aluminum passenger cars would look good behind them.

Here is a set that came out around the same time that would be the perfect companions :http://www.grahamstrains.com/store/Lionel-6-19109-6-19110.-6-19111-6-19112-6-19113-Santa-Fe-Aluminum-5-Car-Passenger-Set.html
