Hi Boyd,

The plastic storage bins are the way to go.  I think I have seen some with wheels for under-the-bed storage, not too deep but they make good use of the space there.

   Good Luck!

Take care, Joe.

Layout is also bedroom, storage ideas?

I just have two rooms for myself where I live, so my trainroom is where my bed is. Or is it my bedroom has been taken over by the layout? And your right,,, I'm not married. I've been thinking of more effective storage for trains AND clothes. I currently have several dozen medium blue 10 gallon plastic storage totes from Menards as they are easier to move around than the more common totes that are about twice the capacity. The floor is carpeted but I'm thinking of laying down a sheet of plywood under the layout and finding some short wooden dressers to attach casters too. The main section of my layout is about 4'-5" by 10' and 36" above the carpet. But framing sticks below the 36" height. All of the wiring is currently above the plywood.
