Making Under the Tree Village (Pics)
Posted by spankybird on Tuesday, November 9, 2004 7:52 PM
I was asked to share how we made our Christmas Village.

This is framed with 1” x 4” shelving and ¼” plywood for the top. This is made in two 4 foot x 4 foot sections, so a total of 4 foot by 8 foot. This allows for easy moving and storage.

We used metal braces that we pick up at Lowe’s.

On one half we made a locking bracket to lock the second half in place

Here is the second half

Here is a pic of the feet

We place on half down and then the tree stand, then the second half.

Next we add our track that cross over the two halfs.

Next we will add our lights, houses, tree and cars and people. We will show this in part two.

That is great! About a clear as a newbie or veteran train runner could want.

Our boy Spankybird knows how to build stuff. You should see the Circus Tent and all the other neat things in his basement. After one visit, it was like getting a PhD in Toy Trains.[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] I still don't know how he gets those big engines around those tight curves, but they go around without any effort.[8D][8D]
