American flyer Burlington zephyr
Posted by zingerb51 on Sunday, December 14, 2014 9:00 AM
Just bought a American flyer pre war Burlington zephyr. I had one as a youngster, It was a three car model, This one is a five car set and one car is a whistle car, does this car need a special track to operate it?

If you just want to run it - no but you should tape up the pickups on the whistling baggage car to keep them from snagging on switch points.  If you want to operate the whistle you will need to get some of the Flyer 4 rail track and the circuit diagram for activating the whistle.

Thank you for the information, I had the three car version and had never seen a whistle car.

Does anyone know where I might find a reproduction sticker for the nose of the engine that says Burlington Route on my 1936 AF Zephyr
