Operating track problems pw
Posted by Dobson on Friday, December 12, 2014 2:19 PM
I have traditional o gauge and one of the operating tracks is acting funny. The operate button works fine but when I press uncouple it doesn't seem to work and it causes my lighting to dim on my layout (that is hooked up to the same accessory power post). I have tried multiple controllers and switched and they all demonstrate the same behavior. Now the train starting stalling on that spot as well.

You've pretty much narrowed it down to a short circuit within or around the electro-magnet uncoupler and center rail.  You'll probably need to remove the track section to locate and fix the issue.

Make sure the controller and track are wired properly, including to the accessory power terminal of the transformer.

I had issues with the bakelite material in the controller button cracking/falling apart. Sounds like you may have used a known good controller to test so probably wont help ya....
