parts for an upgrade
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, November 7, 2004 5:18 PM
I don't get to this website as often as I would like as my computer is uotdated and snail-paced but here's the question: is there a source or sources for materials to "upgrade" an engine such as marker lights, number boards, railings etc. for use on say RailKing engines? I love all those lights and details. I know how to wire things in.

I'm not aware of any kits, check www.walthers.com as they carry a good selection of O scale stuff. Handrails you may have to make yourself, but that's part of the fun.

This sounds very basic but pick up a copy of CTT or Model Railroader magazine - some of the advertisers sell ad-on or detail parts.

There is also Precision Scale http://www.precisionscaleco.com/ although they deal in scale size parts, some of which may be slightly oversize for Railking engines.
